By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, April 20: Eight-goal Hissam Ali Haider helped MCB Whites beat its sister Greens 9-7 on the opening day of Emaar Cup Polo on Friday.

The winners led the first chukker 2-0. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana scored on a field attempt to open account later, Hissam struck to double the lead.

The second chukker was equally dominated by both sides scoring two goals each. Hissam fired home twice for the winners while three-goal Shah Shamyl Alam pumped in two for the losers to reduce the lead to 4-2.

In the third chukker, Greens managed to equalize 5-5, as three-goal Taimur Ali Malik fired back-to-back goals while Shamyl added one. A goal from Hissam, his fourth, however made the score equal.
