PCB gives away prizes to deaf squad

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, April 30: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in a ceremony at a local hotel on Friday, distributed cash prizes among members of the Pakistan Deaf cricket squad for winning the first Asia Cup in India this month.

PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf handed over the cheques of worth Rs50,000 each to officials and 17 players of the squad.

“The PCB will give 100 per cent support to the deaf cricketers as they really did a great job for Pakistan,” Dr Ashraf said.

He said funds would be provided to the deaf association to hold events regularly at domestic level.

The chairman also assured the association that all their reasonable demands would be accepted.
