Pesco says no loadshedding without notice

By Our Correspondent

KOHAT, April 20: The Kohat executive engineer of Pesco, Arbab Khan Afridi, has assured the district naib nazim that there will be no loadshedding in the district without the announcement of Wapda chairman or Pesco chief.

The district council had decided on Wednesday to form a delegation for a meeting with the executive engineer and apprise him of the problems being faced by people owing to unannounced loadshedding.

The council had warned that if demands were not met then it would urge consumers to stop paying electricity bills.

However, on Friday when the delegation held a meeting with the XEN, both the parties agreed that there would be no loadshedding in Kohat unless announced by the Pesco chief and Wapda chairman.

The naib nazim requested the Pesco chief to provide new gadgets for replacement of old transformers and electricity wires to control line losses and keep the power supply smooth in the summer.

He also demanded the filling of vacant posts of linemen so that faults wee removed timely.
