KARACHI, March 28: Accor Hotels — the chain that runs 4,000 hotels in 90 countries – launched operations in Pakistan by opening its first hotel, the Grand Mercure – Karachi Airport Hotel.

This is the first new five-star hotel to be set up in Karachi after a break of more than two decades.

A press release, issued by the company and its local partners on Wednesday, stated that the hotel was located, bordering terminal 1 & Star Gate.

The property has the state of the art five star facilities with 235 luxurious rooms, all-day dining restaurant, coffee shop, health club, swimming pool, full service banqueting, marriage lawns, business centre, etc.

“The hotel will be managed by Accor and is owned by UIG (Pvt) Limited. UIG is a joint venture between JS Group & Qureshi family,” the press release stated.
