KARACHI: Training of doctors stressed


KARACHI, March 13: Speakers at a workshop urged doctors to acquire updated knowledge and training regarding life support in emergency.

Speaking at a workshop on ‘Basic life support and paediatric life support’ conducted on Tuesday at the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) in collaboration with the Professional Development Centre, the chief coordinator of the workshop, Professor Inkisar Ali, highlighted the need for training doctors and paramedics in emergency care of the children and said that we needed to update the knowledge and training of our doctors regarding life support in the emergency.

He informed that he would try to take steps for proper formation of National Group in Pakistan Paediatric Association for advanced life support and emergency care programmes for neonates and children on a regular basis.

The trainers in the workshop including, Dr Ghani Loya, Dr Nasir Mughal and Dr Anwarul Haq updated the participants on the emergency assessment and care of the children.

DUHS vice-chancellor Professor Masood Hameed Khan distributed certificates to the participants.

He said a new professional development centre was under construction where all facilities of training in various skills would be provided.—Staff Reporter
