Iftikhar’s name restored on SC website

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 12: The original list of judges of the Supreme Court has been restored on its official website after reports appeared in the press that the name of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had been removed.

On Sunday, the name of the chief justice was deleted from the list when Justice Javed Iqbal was sworn in as the acting Chief Justice after Justice Chaudhry was made ‘non-functional’ by President Pervez Musharraf.

However, on Monday the name of Justice Chaudhry was again posted with his photograph on top of the list.

A statement was issued by the Supreme Court stating that the name of the chief justice had inadvertently disappeared from the website on account of wrong redirection of the link in the course of routine maintenance.

It said the link has been reactivated and the information about the chief justice was available on the site since Monday morning.
