Police brutality unlawful: Altaf

LONDON, March 12: Mr Altaf Hussain, the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader, has described the police action against lawyers in Lahore during a protest rally as inhuman and unlawful which deserves severe condemnation.

In a statement, he said that peaceful protests and demonstrations were constitutional democratic right and police brutality was an infringement of that right.

Mr Hussain called upon the government to take action against the police personnel responsible for ‘inflicting torture’ on lawyers.
