KARACHI: Students’ convention from 6th

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 1: The Dow University of Health Sciences will host a three-day provincial convention from March 6 to 8 and select candidates who would take part in the national students’ convention to be held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of President Musharraf.

Thirty-one universities across the province accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) have been invited by the DUHS to become a part of this annual event, which will be the fourth in a row. The first two have been held at the University of Karachi and the third one was hosted by the Sindh University.

According to a press release issued by the Dow Medical College, four sessions would be held during the first two days i.e. March 6 and 7, and prize distribution and closing ceremony would be held on March 8.

The participants of the convention would be required to speak either in Urdu or English on any of the three topics pre-approved by the HEC. Topics would be selected for the speakers by a panel of judges on the spot.

In order to make judging procedure transparent, the organisers have invited judges from non-participating institutes.
