KARACHI, Feb 27: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where vessels carrying containers, machinery and furnace oil were accommodated on berths at QICT, MPT and Fotco terminal during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at 70 per cent at the port where seven ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, wheat, edible oil, peas/seeds, and furnace oil, respectively, during the period under review.

The port handled a cargo volume of 93,217 tons comprising 73,665 tons imports and 19,552 tons exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,003 containers (Teus) during the same period.

The vessel ACX Mimosa arrived at the outer anchorage to unload containers.

Vessels Eship Cobia, Nedlloyed Amercia and Asha Mana were due to sail on Tuesday.
