KARACHI: Prolonged power cuts hit many areas

KARACHI, Feb 26: Residents of different localities continued to suffer prolonged and intermittent power suspension on Monday. A resident of Qasba Colony said that power supply to his locality was suspended at 6pm and was not restored till 8pm.

Another complainant from the Site Industrial Area said that power supply was suspended at 9am and restored at 2pm, adding that the prolonged suspension on a daily basis had badly affected business activities in industrial units.

Another consumer from Raees Amrohvi Colony said that power supply was suspended at 6.30pm and was not restored till 7.45 pm. He said that the KESC had announced a shutdown till 5pm but the supply remained suspended regularly in the evening hours.

Reports of power failures were also received from Liaquatabad, Surjani Town, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Labour Flats (Landhi) and Malir. A complainant from Malir said that the power suspension every day in the area had made life of local residents miserable.
