KARACHI: Parks to be city’s identity: governor

KARACHI, Feb 23: The Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that by developing parks in every part of the city, efforts were being made to make parks the identity of thismega city.

The Governor, who paid a visit to different parts of the city including Bagh Ibn-i-Qasim and Safari Park on Friday along with City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal and other officials appreciated the city nazim for his efforts that had changed the city landscape and restored its status.

He said parks and games activities were guarantee of a peaceful atmosphere of any city and all round development activities were manifestation of the vision of the government and the emerging parks in every part of the city were a reflection that the people want peace.

Referring to on going mega projects, the governor said that in the next phase, the corridor from Sharea Faisal to North Karachi and Surjani Town would be turned into a signal free corridor and in this phase Jauhar More, Gulshan Chowrangi, and Nagan Chowrangi would also be made signal free. The governor said Karachi was economic engine of the country and its infrastructure was a guarantee of development and progress of the country.
