KARACHI: Train attack slammed

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 20: Pakistan India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy on Tuesday condemned the attack on Samjhota Express.

In a statement, the forum’s secretary-general, Anis Haroon, termed it as an act of aggression by those elements who did not allow peace to prevail between the two neighbours.

She extended sympathies to the bereaved families on behalf of all the members of the forum and demanded action against those responsible for the incidents.

“It is shocking and at a time when India and Pakistan are continuing with their composite dialogues such attempts are disgusting,” she said.

The forum reiterated its adherence to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and firmly believed that such gory incidents would not deter the peace process, she said. “It is possible by exposing and punishing the terrorists and continuing the peace efforts,” she added urging people to support the efforts of both the governments to normalise the relations and not get carried away by emotions.
