KARACHI: Moot on PCR techniques

KARACHI, Feb 15: A two-day workshop on the uses of PCR techniques for the benefit of doctors and medical students is being held at the City Government Leprosy Hospital, Manghopir on February 19 and 20.

The medical superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Mohammad Ali Abbasi, said on Thursday that the PCR technique was helpful for diagnosis of all infectious diseases, including leprosy, TB, hepatitis and dengue fever.

Quarters desiring training in the relevant field could contact the MS on phone 6998822 till Feb 17.

He said the PCR diagnostic facility had been set up at the leprosy hospital of Manghopir and would be made functional soon. The facility is first of its kind at a city government hospital, said Mr Abbasi.
