SAHIWAL, Feb 12: Civil Lines Police on the order of an additional district and sessions judge registered a case on Saturday for fraudulent transfer of seven kanals of a woman, after 21 nearly years.
Robina Ansari inherited seven kanals in Chak 95/6-R. Her brother Ghulam Sarwar conniving with a revenue official, stamp vender Abdul Jabbar and Abdul Sattar got transferred the land to him on May 9, 1986. Robina approached the police for the registration of a case but police put her off. Then she moved court for the registration of case. The court ordered the registration of a case against the accused after 21 years. No arrest was made so far.
WATER THEFT: Police on the complaint of irrigation authorities registered a case against 31 farmers for water theft. The accused broke a watercourse to increase the water flow to their lands in Chak 137/9-L in November, 2006. The accused include: Muhammad Alam, Jamal, Niaz Ali, Sardar, Mahmood Khan, Qudratullah, Anwar, Asghar, Liaqat, Maqbool, Ramz and others. — Correspondent
