PESHAWAR: Govt urged to trace journalist

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Feb 12: Journalists, businessmen, social workers and nazims of Mardan on Monday staged protest demonstrations in front of the Governor’s House and the Chief Minister’s House and demanded early recovery of Sohail Qalandar, resident editor of daily Express and his colleague, kidnapped on Jan 2 from Peshawar.

The protesters broke the barriers erected on Sir Abdul Qayyum Road and reached in front of Governor’s House

The protesters threatened that if Mr Qalandar was not recovered within a week, they would hold demonstration in front of parliament in Islamabad. They said the provincial and federal government had failed to provide protection to the citizens. They said Mr Qalandar belonged to Mardan and it was their duty to work for his early and safe recovery.
