DUBAI, Feb 10: All-rounder Shahid Afridi was banned for four one-day internationals on Saturday after being found guilty of threatening a fan with his bat.
Afrisi said after the verdict that he would not appeal against the decision. The verdict means the hard-hitting batsman will miss Pakistan’s last two two one-dayers in South Africa and the first two matches of the World Cup.
The Dubai-based International Cricket Council said Afridi breached its code of conduct but gave him the minimum penalty for a `Level 3’ offence at a hearing in South Africa. The maximum penalty could have been a ban for eight one-dayers or four tests.
