KARACHI, Feb 2: The Sindh Minister for Industries Adil Siddiqi has called upon investors and industrialists to invest in small and medium size industries for Sindh’s industrial and economic progress.
This will bring prosperity to the province and the country on the one hand, and help the government bring down unemployment, on the other hand, he said in a statement issued here on Friday.
He observed that the federal and provincial governments were making coordinated efforts in this regard, and said that they would continue to extend all possible cooperation to investors.
The minister directed the Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) to exploit all resources for promoting small industries and accelerate development work in industrial estates to ensure that they had the attraction for investors after getting the basic infrastructure and all essential facilities.
The government has set up 16 small industrial estates and three industrial parks in various districts of the province which would help provide better employment opportunities to thousands of people. He stressed the need for setting up industries in the interior of Sindh, and said investors’ attention should be drawn to these areas.
Offering investors the facilities like water, power, gas etc. at the industrial estates on priority basis, he said arrangements were being made to help them get easy loans from financial institutions for small and medium enterprises.—APP
