JAKARTA, Feb 2: Indonesian palm oil prices were slightly higher on Friday, but trading was slow ahead of the weekend and floods in Jakarta affected trading activities of some cooking oil producers.

In North Sumatra's Medan, the main port for palm oil exports, crude palm oil was sold at 5,328 rupiah ($0.587) a kilogram for high grade super CPO, up from 5,275 rupiah on Tuesday.

The auction at the state marketing centre was cancelled as the floods prevented many employees from going to work.

Today the CPO tender was cancelled, a lot of people did not come to work because of the floods. There may be a tender on Monday but that depends on the situation. If it floods again, there may be no tender then also, a Jakarta trader said.—Reuters
