LAHORE, Feb 1: A four-wicket haul by Tauqir Hussain helped Faisalabad to restrict Peshawar to a modest first-innings total of 215 on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League fixture at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Thursday.

Peshawar, lying second in the standings with 18 points, were off to a poor start as they lost the first three wickets for 17 runs before half-centuries by Fawwad Khan (69 with 10 fours) and Shoaib Khan (59, two fours steadied them in a fourth-wicket partnership of 100. But once Fawwad went, Peshawar’s innings lost momentum.

Faisalabad, who are at the bottom in the seven-team contest, were 39 without loss at stumps.
