KARACHI: Fazil pins great hopes with his movie: Pakistan- India joint production

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 1: Known film director Mohammad Javaid Fazil says his latest movie, a Pakistan-India co-production, would be yet another step forward towards more cultural exchanges between the two neighbours.

Mr Fazil, who has the great movies like Lazawal, Dehleez, Bulandi, Bazaar-e-Husn, Zid, etc. to his credit, has no complaints that why he was not given the visa to attend the family show of his new movie, Main Aik Din Laut Key Aaoonga.“I can’t say why I was not given the visa but it does not matter to me because I had once stayed in India for as long as eight months for making the movie,” says Mr Fazil.

Humayun Saeed is playing the lead role with two least known Indian actresses, Pooja Kanwal and Nausheen Ali, in the new movie. Nadeem, Javed Shaikh and Saba Pervez have been given character roles.

According to Mr Fazil, eminent producer/director Mahesh Bhatt also attended the family show and the participants ‘nicely appreciated’ the effort. “The fact that my movie is the first Pakistani film to have screened a family show in India is itself of great satisfaction,” says Mr Fazil, who had introduced Shan and Reema in the1990-movie, Bulandi.

The movie, a mixture of mystery and romance, is being filmed entirely in the Indian cities of Mumbai and Hyderabad Deccan. A UK-based Pakistani, Shoaib Alam, is its producer while famous singer and composer Jawwad Ahmed has composed its songs.

“All technical personnel of the movie are Indian nationals who put together every thing vital for making a fantastic movie,” said Mr Fazil.

“I really appreciate the punctuality observed by my team members and the Indian colleagues. All of them are really passionate and they have put in their best efforts with all dedication and devotion,” he remarked.

The movie is waiting for Censor Board clearance.
