WASHINGTON, Jan 31: US economic growth accelerated to a 3.5 per cent pace in the fourth quarter of 2006, following a 2.0 per cent pace in the third quarter, the government said on Wednesday. The commerce department report on gross domestic product showed that the expansion for the full year 2006 was 3.4 per cent, despite a severe slump in the real estate market.—AFP
