Shahbaz guides Ravi Gymkhana to victory


KARACHI, Jan 23: Shahbaz Butt slammed a brilliant half-century to steer Ravi Gymkhana to an eight-wicket victory over Keameri Eaglets in a NBP KCCA Inter Club Championship match at Navy's Ground here on Monday.

Shahbaz hit seven boundaries in his 87 as Ravi Gymkhana reached the target of 146 in the 21st over. Earlier, Abdul Hakeem hit 51 with five fours as Keameri Eaglets scored 145 before being dismissed in the 35th over.

Meanwhile, Malir Companion defeated Azeempura Gymkhana by eight wickets in a low-scoring tie at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground. Masoom and Shakir Ali picked up three wickets each for the winners.

In the meantime, Late Ismail Jaffar Memorial Cricket Club overwhelmed Bright Gymkhana by five wickets. Mohammad Ashraf (68) slammed eight fours for the winners.
