LAHORE, Jan 22: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) on Monday restored supplies to two major fertiliser plants - Pak-Arab and Daud Hercules. It, however, stopped supplies to Pak-American plant for fifteen days.

According to the company officials out of 365 industrial units, which were closed till Friday last, 269 have progressively been restored in the last three days. On Monday, only 96 units were closed saving 168 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD).

During the last three days, the gas shortage has come down to 168mmcfd from 460mmcfd on Friday last. They said that the cement sector would start getting supplies from early February but the power sector would have to wait till March.

All shortages would be wiped off in the next few days if weather does not take another dip, officials added.
