QUETTA, Jan 21: Posts of the Capital City Police Officer, Deputy Inspector General (Operations) and DIG Highway Police have changed hands and a new post, that of Additional IGP, has been created in Balochistan.
According to an S&GAD notification, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Fakharuddin, has been appointed as the Additional IGP. Rao Khan Brohi has been made the Capital City Police Officer, Quetta, replacing Salman Syed who has gone on study.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Investigation Department (CID), Rehmatullah Naizi, has been promoted as the DIG (Operations). Another senior police officer, Abdul Ghafoor Kasi, working as an AIG Crime CPO, Quetta, has been promoted as the DIG Highway Police.
The notification further said that another senior police officer, Asghar Mehmood (PSP-20) — an officer on special duty — has been appointed as the DIG (Investigations) Central Police Office, Quetta, while Mirza Shakeel Ahmed (PSP-19) AIG (Finance) CPO, Quetta, will take over as Commandant Police Training College, Quetta.
Two more police officers Abdul Hayee Baloch and Khalil Hasan (DSP-17) are promoted as Superintendent of Police (B-18) with immediate effect. After promotion, Khalil Hasan will take the charge of AIG (Legal) and Hayee Baloch as SP Federal Project Constabulary.
The Inspector General Police, Balochistan, Tariq Masood Khosa placed the ranks on the shoulders of the promoted officers during a ceremony.
He advised the officers to work with honesty and protect the rights of citizens.
"Security to life and property of people is the responsibility of police," he said, adding that police should fulfil its responsibility and work diligently for the welfare of people.
