Hyder Talpur elected president

HYDERABAD, Jan 20: Mir Hyder Talpur and Barkatullah Jokhio have been elected respectively as president and secretary of the Hyderabad Regional Cricket Association (RCA).

The elections were held on Saturday at the Sindh Sports Board hostel and supervised by PCB-appointed election commissioner Javed Zaman, Brig Salahuddin and Kashif Zahid.

32 voters out of 33 turned up to cast their votes. Asim Kabir, the president of the Nawabshah District Cricket Association (DCA), could not cast his vote due to illness of his wife.

Hyder Talpur of Hyderabad received 17 votes while his rivals Syed Zahir Shah (Sukkur) and Hamid Nasir Mehmood (Hyderabad) received 12 and three votes respectively.

Barkatullah Jokhio of Shikarpur was elected unopposed as two other candidates Shakeel Qureshi (Hyderabad) and Abdul Aleem Ansari (Sukkur) withdrew their nominations.
