PORT ELIZABETH, Jan 20: Pakistan opener Imran Farhat on Saturday escaped punishment after he was not found guilty by the ICC match referee Chris Broad for claiming a ‘catch’ off South African batsman Ashwell Prince on the first day of the second Test here on Friday.
Imran was reported for suspected foul play by third umpire after he claimed a catch at short-leg off left-handed Prince in South Africa’s first innings off the bowling of leg-spinner Danish Kaneria.
But referee Broad, holding a hearing into the incident after the second day’s play, ruled Imran ‘not guilty’ and let him go with a stern warning.
