FPCCI chief for modern technology

KARACHI, Jan 20: The need for acquisition and adoption of modern technology by Pakistani industrialists is increasing to secure a competitive edge, said FPCCI President, Tanvir Ahmed Shaikh, while addressing participants of National Defence Course 2006-07 who visited the Federation House on Saturday.

The challenges of globalisation are varied and new emerging realities under WTO have placed the developing countries in a difficult situation and to cope with these, the countries need to reduce cost of production through employment of latest technology and enhancement of skills of workers for better productivity and efficiency, he said.—APP
