Belgian envoy meets minister

ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: Ambassador of Belgium Michael Goeffior called on Federal Minister for Religious and Minorities Affairs Ejazul Haq here on Friday and discussed matters of mutual interest.

The minister briefed the envoy about the ongoing madrassah reforms in Pakistan and said that the government was determined to bring modern education in madrassahs. He said that the government was endeavouring hard for the uplift of minorities in the country and minorities were enjoying religious freedom in the country.

Mr Haq told the envoy about the formation of interfaith committees at district level and said that these committees were successfully working for enhancing religious harmony in the society.—Our Reporter
