Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 8: Five ships to load/offload containers, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 90 per cent as nine ships, Independence Spirit, Plermo, Annie Sierra, Alexander-1, Ibn-Bassam, Chemroad Nova, Eternal Pride, Yasaseni and Capt. George-L, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 83,651 tons comprising 74,734 tons of import and 8,917 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were brisk as Independence Spirit, Plermo, Yanaseni, Entalina and Rio Garacia left the port.
