KARACHI, Jan 7: The Pakhtoon Action Committee, calling itself the ‘Loya Jirga’, has expressed concern over cold-shoulder response from the government towards its demands for resolving the issues confronting the Pakhtoons in Karachi, and warned that if their problems were left unsolved, the responsibility of consequences would rest on the government.
Speaking at an emergency meeting of the PAC here on Sunday, its Chairman Shahi Syed said as per the government’s desire, the PAC had given it 15 days to come out with some relief measures to mitigate the Pakhtoons’ sufferings.
Shahi Syed deplored that the authorities had been continuing with their non-serious attitude towards the PAC’s demands.
However, he added, if the situation persisted for another 15 days, the committee would be free to opt for any democratic course to raise its voice and press the government to resolve the issues.
Giving a call for a three-day transport strike could not be ruled out, he said.
Shahi Syed recalled that it was the same non-serious attitude adopted by the authorities in the past that had compelled the PAC to enforce a transport strike on December 15.
