Call for speeding up power dues recovery

PESHAWAR, Dec 24: Strict action will be taken against Wapda officials who fail to recover dues from consumers, according to chief executive of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Brig Sakhi Marjan.

Brig Marjan said this while presiding over a meeting at the Wapda House in Peshawar which reviewed the performance of various circles of Pesco, especially efforts to cut down line losses and to improve recovery, said a press relase issued here on Sunday.

Chief engineers, finance director and other senior officers of Pesco attended the meeting. Brig Marjan stressed the need to reduce line losses and improve recoveryof dues, a press release said.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the performance of some circles, he said that some Pesco officials had not been able to achieve their targets. He warned that if they were not able to improve their performance, they would be taken to the task.

He ordered officials to accelerate their efforts to recover outstanding arrears from defaulters. He warned that stern action would be initiated against Wapda officials who failed to recover the arrears.

He directed to immediately post a recovery tehsildar in Mardan Circle for recovery from dead defaulters. He issued necessary instructions to monitor the electricity consumption in water supply schemes. He said that concerned officers should closely monitor consumption and billing of such connections.

He said that able and dedicated workers are assets of company and they will be given due facilities if they achieved the targets.
