James helps Dewan Motors triumph

LAHORE, Dec 20: Dewan Motors and Sukh Chan earned nail-biting victories in the Punjab Police polo cup here on Wednesday. Five-goal James Harper propelled Dewan Motors to a thrilling 6 - 5 ½ win against Army.

Army with half-goal handicap led the first chukker 1 ½ - 1 as James opened his account. For Army, three-goal Asif Zahoor struck first.

The second chukker was replay of the first as Army maintained half goal lead 2 ½ - 2. Asif scored his second for Army while Harper his second for the winners.

Army gained 4 ½ - 3 lead in the third chukker as Asif banged home his third and Mashood chipped in with a goal.

Abdul Haseeb Mehta scored for Dewan.

The fourth chukker saw the winners made brilliant comeback, as Harper scored three to turn the tables over Army. Haseeb Minhas scored one for the losers.

Three-goal Saqib Mawaz Khan helped Sukh Chan carved out 7 - 6 ½ win against Security 2000.

Shah Qubilai Alam and Taimur Ali Malik scored two each.

For the losers, who have 3 ½ goal handicap, scored through Bilal Haye, Shaukat Ali Malik and Sameer Habib Oberoi.
