KARACHI: MQM says no compromise with PML-Q

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 4: As the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was on Monday preparing for the next day’s countrywide protest against the ‘dictatorial’ conduct of its coalition partner, the PML-Q, MQM Convenor Dr Imran Farooq declared that his party will not compromise on principles.

Dr Farooq said that the MQM had always supported the government in difficult times. He maintained that the government, in principle, should have taken the MQM into confidence on all crucial issues, including that of the Women Protection Bill.

When Chaudhry Shujaat had invited ulema for talks on the bill, the MQM had not been informed or taken into confidence as a coalition partner, he pointed out, and castigated the PML-Q for pursuing such a policy.
