ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: Chinese President Hu Jintao’s four-day state visit to Pakistan from Nov 23 will be the culminating point of his three-nation regional tour and a highpoint in bilateral relations, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told a news briefing here on Monday.
“It will also be the high point in the commemorative events regarding the 55th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations,” Ms Aslam said, adding that the visit would help further strengthen the relations and set out a clear trajectory for cooperation between the two countries in the 21st century.
Making it clear that a new accord in the civilian nuclear field was not on the cards during the Chinese president’s visit, the spokesperson termed as “speculative” all reports in the media about signing of an agreement for supply of further nuclear power plants. —Q.A.
