Murtaza hits century


KARACHI, Nov 12: Murtaza Hussain struck a maiden century to strengthen the position of Customs on the second day of their Patrons Trophy Grade-I match against Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) at the UBL Sports Complex on Sunday.

Murtaza Hussain hammered 15 boundaries in his innings of 117 as Customs scored 379.

Shahid Qambrani added ten runs to his overnight score of 118 before getting out.

Qambrani and Murtaza were involved in a 181-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

In reply, ARL scored 108 for two wickets on close of the day’s play.

Imran Ali was not out on 44 while Khurram Shahzad was batting on 39. They added 84 runs for the unbroken third wicket partnership.

Summarised scores:

Customs (1st innings) 379 all out (Shahid Qambrani 128, Murtaza Hussain 117; Asim Butt 63-5).

ARL (1st innings) 108-2 (Imran Ali not out 44, Khurram Shahzad not out 39).—APP
