PESHAWAR, Oct 20: Journalists held a protest demonstration outside the Peshawar Press Club on Friday to press their demand for two Eid holidays.

The demonstration was held by the press club and the Khyber Union of Journalists to criticised the All Pakistan Newspapers Society’s decision about one-day Eid holiday.

PPC president Syed Bukhar Shah, KhUJ senior vice-president, Hazrat Khan and Akhbar Faroosh Union president Jafar Shah urged the government to take notice of what they called injustice meted out to journalists and other newspaper employees.

The Hawkers’ Union also held a demonstration demanding two-day holiday.
