SARGODHA, Oct 20: Police have arrested a former UC nazim for alleged bungling.

Present nazim of the union council 152 Arshad Iqbal has lodged a case against ex-nazim Rizwan Gill and others for stealing the record of the council from the office.

The police seized the record from the custody of Rizwan Gill.

Mr Gill said he was being victimised owing to his affiliation with the PML-N.

When contacted, investigating officer disclosed that Mr Gill had stolen the record of the UC and denied that he was being victimised for political reasons.

STRIKE: The Stone Crushers Association observed a token strike to protest the murder of Qadeer Butt , owner of a crushing unit.

Association chairman Alamdar Husain in a statement warned Sargodha police that if the killers of Qadeer Butt were not arrested within three days, stone crushers would observe a complete strike. He said the police had failed to protect the life and property of people. He said Qadeer Butt was killed by dacoits but the police claimed it to be a case of enmity.—Correspondent
