JAIPUR, Oct 12: Pakistan eased to a comfortable 93-run victory as they gained invaluable match practice against a Rajasthan Cricket Association President’s XI on Thursday.
Batting first, Pakistan rattled up 280 for eight in their 50 overs in the first ICC Champions Trophy warm-up fixture.
Younis Khan, who was at the centre of captaincy controversy last week, led the way with a top-score of 64. There were useful contributions from Imran Farhat and the big-hitting Shahid Afridi as well.
Younis adorned his 85-ball innings with seven boundaries and one six. The left-handed Imran bludgeoned a 58-ball 49, which included seven fours and one six.
Afridi in his usual style clobbered 41 off 38 deliveries with the aid of three fours and one six.
The President’s XI made no serious attempt for victory as they ended up with 187 for four.
R. Vishnoi was unlucky to miss out on a century when he was run out for 92. His 122-ball innings contained nine fours and two sixes.
Former Indian batsman Ajay Jadeja, who led the home team, did not bat as the Younis tried out eight bowlers.
