KARACHI: MMA seeks reduction in oil prices

KARACHI, Oct 12: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Thursday demanded an immediate cut in oil prices and feared that after nose-diving of oil prices in the international market, if rulers failed to decrease prices of POL products in Pakistan, they would have to face the wrath of masses.

MMA MPAs Nasrullah Khan Shajie, Hameedullah Khan Advocate and Younas Barai, in their joint statement, alleged that instead of transferring benefit of oil price slump to the masses, the rulers were enjoying luxurious lives by selling petrol and diesel at high rates.

They said the rulers in the past immediately raised oil prices in market when they were raised in the international market, but now they were not ready to lower them when oil prices in the international market were falling.

They demanded of the government to fix petrol price at Rs 38 per litre to facilitate the masses.—PPI
