KARACHI, Oct 12: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) will sign two memorandums of understanding with Vietnam in November during the first-ever trade delegation visit, commercial counsellor and head of Vietnam Trade Office Nguyen Hong Tien said here on Thursday.

In a meeting with KCCI President Majyd Aziz, Mr Tien said the first MoU would be to participate in the `My Karachi exhibition’ scheduled for June 1-3, 2007 at the Expo Centre where Vietnam would have its own pavilion.

The second MoU would be agreement to exchange delegation, ideas and information, plus initiating a programme where each organisation, on a reciprocal basis, would host a team of two representatives consisting of a member of the managing committee and a staff member who would visit one another to learn the best practices adopted in each organisation.

The Vietnamese counsellor said Pakistani businessmen could get visas on arrival provided they first apply to his Karachi office that would process their applications here.

He invited auto and motorcycle spare parts dealers to attend the auto parts show in Hanoi that is an annual feature.

Earlier, Majyd Aziz called for more exports of textile products and pharmaceutical products to Vietnam and requested a fast track decision to register their pharmaceutical products.—APP
