KARACHI, Oct 6: Eight vessels carrying containers, steel and steel pipes are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where half a dozen ships were berthed: They are: Bunga Delima, Kota Merdes, Iran Kordestan, and Maersk Arkansas, to unload and load containers, Chi Feng Kou, to unload and general cargo, and Pacific Sun-2, to load general cargo.

Five ships, Kota Merdesa, Frex, Bunga Delima, Hyundai Sprinter and Y.M. Mondego, departed, while Patton-1, Swat, Olympics, Iran Kordestan, Manhattan Princess and Maersk Arkansas, are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 80,961 tons comprising 5,712 tons of export cargo and 75,249 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Kota Perkasa, Mega-2, Yang Jiang He, Wan Hai-306, Gallant Wave, with containers, Asian Rosalie, and Wakasa, with steel pipes and Emerald Coral, with steel.
