NAWABSHAH, Sept 22: Two men were killed when their motorcycle skidded on the 68-Mori Road late Thursday night.

Gulsher Rind, 45, died instantly while Mohammad Azeem Rind, 25, sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to PMC hospital where he died.

ROAD BLOCKED: Residents of Azeem, Doulat and Bhangwar colonies staged a sit-in and burnt tyres on Nawabshah-Sakrand road on Friday bringing the traffic to a halt to protest against undue delay in the construction of a road.

Police used batons to end the blockade but the protesters responded with pelting stones on them.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans against the district administration, the protesters said that the contractor had dropped stone on the site for the road three months ago but had not started construction.

Later, the nazim of union council-2, Mohammad Hussain Bughio, and PPP taluka president Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, rushed to the scene and persuaded the protesters to end the blockade.
