KARACHI: No separation movement in Balochistan: Mazari
KARACHI, Sept 12: There is no separation movement in Balochistan as Baloch people are patriot like other Pakistanis, who are struggling for provincial autonomy and their democratic rights.
This was stated by Sardar Sherbaz Khan Mazari, veteran politician and brother-in-law of slain Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Nawab Akbar Bugti while talking to former Sindh Governor and senior PML-N leader Mamnoon Hussain, Khawaja Tariq Nazir and Nasiruddin Mahmood at his residence here on Tuesday.
The PML-N delegation had called on Sardar Sherbaz Khan Mazari at his residence to offer condolence on the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti on behalf of exiled PML-N chief and former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Sardar Sherbaz Khan Mazari said Nawab Akbar Bugti sacrificed his life for provincial autonomy and made the goal achievable for Baloch people.
“Military regime is levelling humiliating charges against Balochs that they have contacts with neighbouring enemy states.
“Such allegations have also been framed against me, which is highly condemnable” he said, adding that the government was trying to divide people to prolong its tenure.
Paying tribute to people of Punjab, he said despite attempts by the rulers, people of Punjab supported their Baloch brethren in their just struggle for provincial autonomy and added Akbar Bugti's death had reinforced the Baloch people's struggle for their rights.
Thanking Mian Nawaz Sharif for his support to Baloch people, he said entire Baloch nation was united and collectively struggling for their democratic rights and added nobody could deprive them of their basic rights anymore.
Former Sindh Governor and PML-N leader Mamnoon Hussain paid rich tributes to Nawab Akbar Bugti, saying he was a patriot Pakistani and demanded immediate end to military operation in Balochistan.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant fortitude to his family and relatives to bear this irreparable loss with courage.—PPI
