KARACHI: Rain relief measures


KARACHI, Sept 12: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Sindh is carrying out flood relief operations in the rain-hit areas. The relief teams of Pakistan Red Crescent Society are busy in distributing relief items transported from Karachi to Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Badin, Thatta and Sanghar, a PRCS release said on Tuesday.

The Red Crescent Hyderabad branch has set up emergency centres in Red Crescent General Hospital and Cardiac Hospital, Latifabad, where 2,315 patients have been provided medical help.

Over 600 food parcels have been dispatched and 5,000 food parcels are being prepared by the PRCS for rain–hit people in Sindh. Plastic sheets, tents, blankets, utensils, food parcels, mosquito nets, ORS sachets and anti-malaria tablets are being distributed by Red Crescent Mirpurkhas in Chandio village, Jhuddo and Digri.—PPI
