KARACHI, Sept 12: Seven ships carrying chemicals, steel and sugar are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was light owing to delayed arrivals. Two ships, oil tanker Al-Mukhtarah and Buenos Aires, to unload and load containers, were berthed after the departure of six. The ships, which departed included Tai He, China Star, Maersk Arkansas, Voc Rose and Veracity, while Veracity, Thor Captain, Buenos Aires, Avalon and Al-Mukhtarah are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 56,445 tons comprising 16,662 tons of export cargo, including 1,214 tons of rice and 3,772 tons of cement, and 39,783 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Constantinos-G, with 34,500 tons of sugar, Roseanne, with chemicals, Johar, with crude oil, Hyundai Advance, APL Jabel Ali, Y.M. Energy, with containers, and Pacific Express, with steel and general cargo.
