KARACHI, Aug 27: Elections for the various tiers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were held on Sunday. Results will be announced on Monday.
MQM Convener Dr Imran Farooq had constituted an election commission headed by parliamentary party leader in Sindh Assembly Syed Sardar Ahmad.
According to a party handout, 16 candidates were in the filed for the Karachi organizing committee whereas 26 had filed nominations for the coordination committee. Brisk activity was seen in and around Khursheed Memorial Hall since 8am on Sunday.
