Met forecasts more rain

By Intikhab Hanif

LAHORE, Aug 20: Fresh monsoon low pressure from India knocked the borders of Punjab on Sunday and the Met office said it would generate rain with isolated heavy falls in the catchments of Punjab rivers and plains.

“The previously well-marked monsoon low has luckily weakened and there is no westerly wave which means the rain it would generate would not be devastating,” a senior Met officer said.

The system could have swelled rivers and caused urban flooding had there been any westerly system, he explained.
