KARACHI: Baby care centres planned


KARACHI, Aug 20: The provincial Women Development Department would set up baby care centres in all districts of Sindh and all 18 towns of Karachi, a high-level meeting held at the Governor’s House was told here on Sunday.

The meeting, presided over by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, was informed that the department would also set up a women’s training institute in Nawabshah and a hostel for working women in Karachi.

It was further stated that the federal government was funding several projects of the department, included the National Plan of Action, Women’s Centres, District Resources Centres and Women’s Political School.

Sindh Minister for Women Development Dr Saeeda Malik said that the department was considering establishment of a multipurpose revolving fund for needy women and setting up of a planning, monitoring and evaluation cell.—PPI
