KARACHI, Aug 20: Judicial Magistrate Central on Saturday issued non-bailabale warrants against medico-legal officer of the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for avoiding trial proceedings in a case in which injuries were caused to a woman by a man.

The court was conducting trial against Waseem Ahmed who is charged with beating and injuring his ex-wife Nida in June 2004.

MLO Dr Zakia Khursheed, who prepared medical certificate of the complainant, was to appear before the court for her examination but she did not appear despite issuance of bailable warrants by the court.

JM Abdul Zahoor Chandio, taking notice of non-appearance of the MLO from trial proceedings issued non-bailable warrants against the lady doctor and ordered the police to produce her before the court on Aug 22.—PPI
