KARACHI: Man shot dead

KARACHI, Aug 20: A man was shot dead in Korangi Industrial Area on Sunday.

Police said that Abdul Samad, a factory worker, was passing through the industrial area when some armed men intercepted him and demanded his motorcycle. As Samad attempted to resist, they shot at him and fled taking away the motorcycle and snatching cash from his possession.

The victim was taken to the Jinnah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in separate accidents on Sunday.

Police said that two dumpers collided at KPT Gate No.1 resulting in the death of a pedestrian, Jamshed. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

A pedestrian was apparently crossing railway lines when he got crushed beneath a locomotive near Cattle Colony. The 35-year-old victim died on the spot.

RECOVERED: The body of a boy, who had drowned in sea near Sandspit on Aug 14, was washed ashore at Manora beach on Sunday. The victim was identified as Nabi Ahmed.
